Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) is a process of gathering information to understand the function (purpose) of behavior in order to write an effective Positive Behavior Support Plan. This publication explains the FBA process and includes a worksheet, which walks IEP teams through the steps of the process. Also available in Spanish.

Instructions for Ordering Publications:

  1. To search by keyword, click inside the area labeled “Search By” and enter the keyword(s). Click “Go.”
  2. To search by topic, click the drop-down menu “Filter by Topic.” Once you have selected a topic, click “Go.”
  3. Click the title of the publication to access the publication’s record.
  4. To view the publication, click the Download button.
  5. The publication will open in a new tab in your browser. You may either view the document or save it to your computer.
  6. To order a publication in hard copy, enter in the quantity you wish to order and click the “Add to Cart” button.
  7. If the “Add to Cart” button is not visible, the publication is available only for download.
  8. When you have finished shopping, click "My Account" at the top of the page, then click “My Cart."
  9. ​Confirm the quantity desired for each publication. To remove a publication from your order, click "Remove."
  10. Click “Checkout.”​
  11. Upon successful transaction, an order confirmation will be sent to you.
