Members of the West Chester Area School District will discuss Year One SWPBS implementation in their elementary school. The Mary C. Howse Elementary School SWPBS Core Team devised a unique and effective timeline for Tier 1 implementation in their K-5 school. We will share how MCH students Make exCellence Happen each and every day!

This presentation will cover the fundamentals of boosting math competence and student confidence through the application of classwide intervention. A step-by-step action plan will be outlined, including (a) identifying need using math CBM, (b) selecting/developing materials, (c) implementing class-wide intervention, and (d) progress monitoring.

Students have a 75% chance of dropping out of school if they miss 2 or more days of school a month, or their behavior is interfering with school success, or they fail English Language Arts or math. This session is an overview of the State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP) to increase graduation rates for students with disabilities. The benefits of using an Early Warning System (EWS) and other effective strategies/resources will be presented to support students who are off-track for graduation.

Pyramid Model practices can apply even to the littlest learners. We will describe how we began implementation in home and center-based Early Head Start programs. Hear what has worked well as we strive to implement with these tiny tots. We will cover topics like responsive caregiving, using visuals, high-quality environments, family engagement, and share how we were successful at reaching fidelity implementation in a center-based setting and how we are working towards this in home-based settings.

This session explores common instructional barriers to mathematical proficiency and their impact on student learning and motivation. Attendees will learn strategies to support student agency through goal-setting, progress monitoring, and celebrating success. Flexible approaches to instructional design will be discussed, ensuring math is accessible and joyful for diverse learners.

In this session, presenters will share how they utilize ClassDojo to implement their universal support system. ClassDojo allows the PBS team to track progress of individual students or groups on any of their essential agreements. ClassDojo also provides data on teacher usage in order to ensure fidelity throughout the school.

While contending with the ever-unpredictable behaviors of middle schoolers, a global pandemic, and burned-out staff, sustaining a school-wide positive behavior system has taken flexibility, perseverance, and humor. We will share how the use of effective secondary-level acknowledgement systems, investment in staff buy-in, the establishment of a strong student team, and bridging PBIS with Advisory have allowed our program to endure through all the surprises and chaos that middle school can bring.

In this presentation, Dr. Hughes will share six evidence-based teaching strategies that support student learning and achievement, including how clear and concise math language, use of representations, and word problem instruction can support conceptual and procedural understanding of math and boost achievement. We will discuss supports and barriers to success.

16. PATHway to Tier 1: Universal Supports and Interventions for Improved Student Engagement/Success The Pathway School will share the success of reaching Tier 1 fidelity and how it used data to identify areas of concern which lead to the implementation of multiple evidence based programs to support students.

This session will demonstrate the importance of clear and explicit teaching methods through both an example of a mundane lecture and engaging, research-based techniques that transform the educational experience. Attendees will learn how to effectively explain complex concepts and use storytelling principles to foster a deeper understanding among students.
