Learn how the use of the Team-Initiated Problem Solving (TIPS II) model and meeting agenda will establish meetings with a clear, concise: agenda, rolls for all participants, data-based decision-making, precise problem statements, and action plans to make your Core Team meetings valuable and productive for students and staff.

The Core Leadership Team (CLT) is essential in establishing a foundation for collaboration within any school setting. Through commitment, reflection and shared decision-making, the CLT sets the tone for program-wide PBIS implementation. This session will take a look at one team’s progression over time, including its strengths, challenges and lessons learned.

How one elementary school engaged in team-based decision making using behavioral data (SWIS) to reduce physical aggression and physical contact through a targeted tier 1 intervention focused on teaching, modeling, and systematic reinforcement of the school-wide expectations.

Explore one school’s journey from a punitive system to a positive system. Understand ways to include stakeholders in decision-making and delivery to maximize staff buy-in. Experience data delivery ideas as well as interventions that encourage the use of data to make change. We will discuss a successful format through which data can be dispersed and show strategies that will allow resources to be accessible to all school members for use in professional development as well as student learning.

Parent engagement is a critical component of PBIS frameworks, and the provision of behavioral skills training to parents may enhance parents’ engagement. This session will address five core skills for parent training and two models for delivering skill sessions to parents.

S.O.S- The PBIS ship is sinking! Are you finding students disengaged with your PBIS program?? Learn ways to up the hype and get your building EXCITED! This session will take you through the planning and implementation of school wide PBIS kickoff assemblies. Topics include funding, student and staff participation, sharing data with students, and overall engagement in a middle school setting.

Using converging research from the fields of brain science, trauma, poverty and behavior, this overview session will identify school practices that effectively support students with trauma histories. Specific connections to components of PBIS will be made. Note: definition of trauma includes poverty-related developmental/pervasive trauma.

27. A Look at Successful Implementation of an MTSS Framework in a Large Suburban High School The Bensalem High School team is back and better than ever! Join us for an informative and entertaining session. The team will detail the trials and triumphs unique to the secondary setting. Scheduling, academic intervention, PBIS, and data tracking will all be discussed in this dynamic and engaging presentation. Participants will acquire an understanding of how an MTSS framework can work in the secondary setting as well as practical strategies and actionable ideas for use in their schools.

During this session, the presenters will discuss how they continually develop positive character traits of their students. The SWPBS team has chosen the traits of Responsibility, Respect, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, and Citizenship. In this session the team will share experiences with the 4 Be’s and developing a character education program. These efforts are helping students to become "Motivated Millionaires".
