Session Description:
Communication software found on speech-generating devices (SGD) offers a robust set of features that cater to the diverse needs of students with AAC requirements. Its customizable, user-friendly interface make sit a valuable tool in the classroom. In this fast-paced, fun, and creative session, we will review implementation tips and activities that promote independence, facilitate collaboration, and enhance the educational and literacy experiences for children utilizing AAC Devices.

Tobii-Dynavox develops and distributes AAC devices, software, and communication solutions, including the TD Snap and Communicator 5 platforms. This presentation will focus exclusively on the features, settings, and implementation strategies related to Tobii-Dynavox products and will not include information on other similar or related AAC software or devices.

- List two features of SGD communication software that support AAC users in the classroom
- State two benefits of creating accessible curriculum activities for AAC users
- Describe two activities created in the SGD communication software that provide support to emerging literacy learners
Speaker Bios:
Mark Sauka is a 1998 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and a 1999 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Science in Athletic Training. Mark began his career with Tobii Dynavox in May of 2009 and currently serves western Pennsylvania. The best part of Mark's day is when he learns something new, and that happens just about every day working for Tobii Dynavox!

Anastasia (Ana) Martinez, M.S. CCC-SLP, is a dedicated SLP and Tobii Dynavox Solutions Consultant with experience working with both children and adults in outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing settings. While skilled in a variety of areas, Ana has a particular passion for working with adults, finding fulfillment in improving their quality of life, and is driven by the belief that everyone deserves a voice.

Dana Ulakovic is a Pediatric Solutions Consultant at Tobii Dynavox, supporting individuals across the greater Philadelphia region with AAC software

and device solutions. Dana attained a Doctor of Audiology degree from The Ohio State University and a BA in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh. She partners with speech language pathologists, educators, and care teams to support effective AAC implementation, with a strong focus on pediatric communication needs, software customization, and team-based support.

Macy Marturano, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist by background with experience working with pediatric and adult clients in school and outpatient settings. Macy trained under the AAC Collaboration Grant at Penn State in specialized curriculum, clinical experience, and research to prepare for working with AAC users. As a Solutions Consultant with TobiiDynavox, she is passionate about providing comprehensive support to SLPs and their clients in the Eastern PA region.
