02. Improving School-wide Outcome from a Remodeled PBIS Program with an Alt. Education Program Join this fun, fast-paced, and interactive session as PBIS Team members from Community School East (AEDY Program outside of Pittsburgh, PA) expound upon their creative and innovative Tier 1 (Fun Friday; Pop Ups; Weekly Check Ins; Restorative Practices; and Sweet 16 Tickets) and Tier 2 (STAR Check-In; 20/20/20 - Reflection/Visual Learning & Connections/Character Education & Practice; and Advance to Fun Friday Passes) practices, interventions, and progress monitoring methods!

This session features how McKinley Elementary School integrated PBIS and the Olweus Anti-Bullying Program. By finding the nexus between the two programs, McKinley was able to leverage the structures of PBIS and Olweus to proactively reduce bullying behaviors. Interventions provided through both frameworks provided a supportive foundation to improve school climate and culture. The strategies utilized to forge this connection will be shared during this session.

An estimated 20% of the population is neurodiverse, yet most early childhood classrooms are not consistently accessible to all learners. These non-academic barriers impact school success due to delays in social-emotional learning. We will explore real-life implementation of inclusive strategies with specific examples and visuals and identify how to implement them in the classroom as well as partnering with families to increase equitable and inclusive practices and thus school success.

Restorative Practices are proactive strategies that focus on building relationships and community within school settings and can be integrated into existing MTSS systems. This session will guide participants in establishing restorative practices through a coaching process. Specific case examples will be provided.

Are you a school who is struggling to establish a successful PBIS program due to lack of funds or staff buy-in? It’s time to do more with less. Implementing an all-encompassing program, such as PBIS, can be difficult! Don’t let that stop you from finding new ways to reach every student school-wide! Learn how to overcome common obstacles such as budget restraints, teacher/staff buy-in, incentivizing and reaching/maintaining Tier 1 status. We did more with less and so can you!

You will be provided with tools to supplement evidence -based multi-tiered systems of support for Tier 2 students through the use of (CICO). Participants will leave with evidence-based programming knowledge, resources ready for implementation according to your needs, and a timeline for successful implementation. You will leave with copies of digital documents via Google Drive to calculate automatically and analyze student data/progress based on individual student goals.

Session will present creative ways to refresh students on PBIS expectations and reinforce following school rules, discuss ideas on encouraging staff to feel renewed as well as ideas for fundraising ideas.

How can we better manage bus behavior? Valley View Elementary has successfully tackled this question using a multi-tiered system of supports. Through an interactive presentation, attendees will learn how to decrease bus referrals and will leave with simple ideas to implement into their own community of learning right away. Discover Tier 1 initiatives to seamlessly incorporate into any existing PBS program, and a Tier 2 intervention that only requires one faculty member.
