This session provides an overview of the Competitive Integrated Employment Grants offered through PaTTAN in 2019.

The Literacy Toolkit is a training series consisting of a progressive sequence of interactive webinars focused on expanding the instructional interventions used to promote the literacy achievement of students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Presentations in the training series will focus on how to plan and implement instructional interventions based on student learning needs and evidenced-based assessments (norm-referenced, criterion-referenced, and progress monitoring). Instructional delivery “techniques” and implementation “tips and tricks” will be discussed. Additionally, a set of intervention resources, materials, weblinks, and e-learning applications will be assembled for each topic to assist with implementation.

This session will focus on the knowledge and skill needed by assistive technology decision makers supporting students with complex needs, in order to consider, introduce, and teach use of specialized equipment that will allow these students to participate and achieve. The presenters will share what powered systems are currently available and how the programmable electronics and hardware integrate with augmentative systems and computer access, including how we can teach more efficient scanning, mouse emulation, and directed or direct selection with on-screen keyboarding, using case studies.

Welcome to Chapter Two of the Pennsylvania Secondary Transition “Connecting for Employment” training series. In this video, we will discuss the Pennsylvania Department of Education - Bureau of Special Education and their role in a person’s successful transition.

The purpose of this training is to provide school administrators the information they need to guide the work of special education paraprofessionals in a manner that supports the best outcomes for students with disabilities in Pennsylvania’s schools. This training will describe the types of paraprofessionals in use in PA, regulations regarding paraprofessional qualifications and the role of paraprofessionals supporting students with disabilities. This training is designed for school administrators who are charged with hiring, monitoring, supervising, or training paraprofessionals directly, or who supervise teachers who work with special education paraprofessionals. There are four separate sections to this training package: • Introduction • Laws, Regulations and Standards Related to Paraprofessionals • Supervision, Policies, Team Roles and Ethical Considerations • When and How We Use Paraprofessionals You may choose to proceed through the training in order all at once over the course of a day or more. Or, you may prefer to complete each section one at a time. These materials are designed to be used either way.
