An overarching look into how K-12 schools can blend restorative practice, including proactive and restorative circles into their SWPBIS programs. We will examine embracing the "we" approach for improving culture and climate in our schools. Restorative practice can serve as a key "intervention" in your PBIS toolbox and bridges the gap between your school/district discipline matrix, positive behavior matrix, and incentives. This presentation is intended for those who are beginning their journey with PBIS or looking to enhance their existing PBIS program. Attendees will explore different approaches for embedding restorative practice interventions into their systems. We will examine how restorative practice strategies can be applied proactively and reactively at each Tier of the MTSS model for behavioral interventions and incentives under a SWPBIS system.

This includes strategies for initial training and roll-out of a program followed by ongoing training and coaching. We will summarize student and staff outcomes of the large-scale implementation, and share strategies for how to examine outcomes for sustained implementation.

Schools in Pennsylvania are working to increase the graduation rate and decrease the dropout rate for students with disabilities by utilizing a State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP). This recorded presentation examines the phases for identifying students with disabilities who are off-track for graduation. The five phases include: 1) establishing a local leadership team and an Early Warning System (EWS), 2) analyzing attendance, behavior, and course performance data, 3) identifying target areas for interventions for students who are off-track, 4) developing an action plan, and 5) implementing and monitoring an evaluation plan.
