Teaming is a critical wraparound structure necessary to ensure sustainability of evidence-based practices in schools. We will review the development of problem-solving teams to support evidence-based multitiered math practices in schools, including (a) timelines for onboarding teams, (b) constructing the teams, and (c) applicable materials to support efficient decision-making.

This session will define math anxiety and describe the research evidence on the relationship between math anxiety and math performance. Considerations for addressing math anxiety in the general education classroom will be discussed and strategies for addressing math anxiety within the context of math intervention design and delivery will be provided. (Grades K- 8 )

This presentation will cover the foundations of Social Emotional Learning and integrating Social Emotional Learning as a part of a three tiered MTSS framework in an elementary school. Practical strategies, ideas, and resources for implementation will be shared throughout.

S.O.S- The PBIS ship is sinking! Are you finding students disengaged with your PBIS program?? Learn ways to up the hype and get your building EXCITED! This session will take you through the planning and implementation of school wide PBIS kickoff assemblies. Topics include funding, student and staff participation, sharing data with students, and overall engagement in a middle school setting.

As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to: Describe the essential components of comprehensive school mental health approaches and how they align with multi-tiered frameworks. Summarize key practices and approaches for mental health promotion and suicide prevention at school. Identify at least three resources to support student mental health within the school environment.

Using converging research from the fields of brain science, trauma, poverty and behavior, this overview session will identify school practices that effectively support students with trauma histories. Specific connections to components of PBIS will be made. Note: definition of trauma includes poverty-related developmental/pervasive trauma.

As we work toward creating environments, routines, & systems focused on supporting the social-emotional needs of the children in our care, let us not forget those on whom we rely, to make it all happen. This session acknowledges and shares the challenges faced when coaching and empowering systemic change. Participants will be provided an overview of the Culturally Responsive TFI, and its utility in coaching teams and assessing practices intended to foster positive learning environments and a sense of belonging.

27. A Look at Successful Implementation of an MTSS Framework in a Large Suburban High School The Bensalem High School team is back and better than ever! Join us for an informative and entertaining session. The team will detail the trials and triumphs unique to the secondary setting. Scheduling, academic intervention, PBIS, and data tracking will all be discussed in this dynamic and engaging presentation. Participants will acquire an understanding of how an MTSS framework can work in the secondary setting as well as practical strategies and actionable ideas for use in their schools.

During this session, the presenters will discuss how they continually develop positive character traits of their students. The SWPBS team has chosen the traits of Responsibility, Respect, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, and Citizenship. In this session the team will share experiences with the 4 Be’s and developing a character education program. These efforts are helping students to become "Motivated Millionaires".
