This session reviews the Embedded Instruction for Early Learning Implementation Check process and helps participants to see the relationship between that and Embedded Instruction Essential Practices 4 and 5. Participants will work with groups and the facilitators to practice and get feedback on making instructional decisions about embedded learning opportunities and collecting and using data to make instructional decisions. The activities will focus on answering the questions of, "Are we doing it?" and "Is it working?" Resources will be shared to assist in the collaboration with Early Childhood partners.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Describe how the Implementation Check process relates to Embedded Instruction Essential Practices 4 and 5.
  2. Describe why it is important to collect data and how to use it.
  3. Identify how to provide feedback right after the target skill behavior is or is not demonstrated.
