Routines are the predictable sequences of events that happen every day in the same way. For young children, they are powerful tools for building a strong foundation for healthy brain development. In this session, based on The Growing Brain: From Birth to 5 Years Old curriculum, we’ll explore why routines matter and how they support cognitive, social-emotional, and self-regulation skills during the critical early years.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Explain how consistent routines support healthy brain development in children from birth to age five.
  2. Identify key components of effective routines that promote cognitive and social-emotional growth.
  3. Describe practical strategies to create and maintain predictable routines in home or early learning environments.

This training is designed for Infant Toddler and Preschool Early Intervention Service Professionals, Early Childhood Education professionals, and Home Visiting/Family Support staff.
