This session is designed to introduce and deepen understanding of the PTRYC (Prevent-Teach-Reinforce for Young Children) framework and its role in supporting young children’s social, emotional, and behavioral success. This session will provide a clear overview of what PTRYC is, who it is designed for, and how it fits within a program-wide approach to positive behavior support. Participants will learn when and why to use PTRYC, including how it supports early identification of behavioral needs and promotes consistent, evidence-based practices across settings. We will explore effective strategies for engaging families as collaborative partners throughout the process, ensuring that supports are meaningful, culturally responsive, and aligned across home and school environments.
Objectives:
Participants will:
- List prevention strategies and plan interim procedures to promote safe classroom management while a behavior plan is being developed.
- Identify the essential parts of the PTR-YC process and their purpose
- Describe when and why to use the PTR-YC
Target Audience
