Participants will hear from a panel of practitioners in the field who are implementing evidence-based strategies at the secondary level to support student social-emotional development and functioning of students.
The panel will be composed of professionals from various backgrounds (e.g. school psychologist, school social workers) and various roles (pupil services director, technical assistance consultants, school counselors). Through a series of interview questions and discussions, the panel will share their efforts around implementing systems and practices that provide a continuum of evidence-based practices.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Identify evidence-based practices to support mental health for implementation in secondary MTSS
- Identify strategies to expand the role and function of school-based behavioral health providers
- List steps to expanding the provision of school-based mental health supports
- Identify barriers to implementing a continuum of mental health supports and strategies for dealing with these barriers
