This professional development opportunity will target early numeracy knowledge, concepts, and procedures that are considered gateway skills correlating to future academic success in mathematics. Participants will deepen their understanding and enhance their application of evidence-based instructional practices in relation to early mathematical learning progressions.
Objectives
At the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify, assess, and support students' progression through gateway skills to early, school-aged mathematics.
- Use evidence-based methodologies in their own teaching to improve student achievement.
- Understand how students cognitively progress and prepare themselves for future mathematics learning.
