The LETRS 3rd ed. Volume 1 Facilitation Sessions are designed to prepare educators to lead and support professional learning in evidence-based reading instruction. Volume 1 covers Units 1–4, focusing on the foundational elements of literacy, including: The Science of Reading, Phonological Awareness, Phonics and Fluency. Facilitation sessions will guide participants through the LETRS curriculum, helping them understand how children learn to read and how to apply this knowledge in classroom instruction.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Explain the Science of Reading
  • List strategies to support students at different developmental stages.
  • Explain the components of fluency and how it connects to comprehension.
  • Use diagnostic assessments to inform instruction

Classroom teachers, Special Education Teachers, Reading Specialist, Speech Language Pathologists, School Psychologists, School Administrators, Instructional Coaches
