This session will focus on a Tier 3 evidence based practice for secondary age students. RENEW is an intervention built around the student strengths and self-determination. RENEW focuses on the dreams and goals of the student and developing individualized plans to stay in school and achieve those goals.

The Support Menu is a road map for teachers serving community preschools. The menu lists a variety of parent resources from the TACSEI Backpack Series, staff training topics and related handouts for discussion with center directors and Prevent-Teach-Reinforce for Young Children resources for teachers in individual classrooms.

In three years, this school has added 3 grades, moved into a new building and became an independent charter school. Transitioning and building the PBIS framework from elementary into the newly added middle school has come with challenges. The presenters will share their strategies for overcoming the challenges and soaring to success.

This session will focus on Tier 1 of the Teaching Pyramid, specifically on nurturing and responsive relationships at the team level. Strategies will be shared through interactive learning activities. The framework will include information on promoting a positive school culture and climate to optimize engaged learning of all students in early childhood settings.

Members of the West Chester Area School District will discuss Year One SWPBS implementation in their elementary school. The Mary C. Howse Elementary School SWPBS Core Team devised a unique and effective timeline for Tier 1 implementation in their K-5 school. The Core Leadership Team (CLT) is essential in establishing a foundation for collaboration within any school setting. Through commitment, reflection and shared decision-making, the CLT sets the tone for program-wide PBIS implementation. This session will take a look at one team’s progression over time, including its strengths, challenges and lessons learned.

This session will focus on the implementation of Tier 1 supports at the secondary level. Within a secondary model, strong communication, student voice, and staff buy-in are critical elements for success. This session will provide practical and effective strategies for any team considering or implementing SWPBIS.

Presenter: Lehighton Area School District

Using converging research from the fields of brain science, trauma, poverty and behavior, this overview session will identify school practices that effectively support students with trauma histories. Specific connections to components of PBIS will be made. Note: definition of trauma includes poverty-related developmental/pervasive trauma.

Presenter: Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13

This session will explore the use of a tool designed to create consistent behavioral responses from adults working with students experiencing escalating behavior. The presenters will provide guidance on incorporating the use of the results into classroom practice and integration into Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs).

Presenter: Allegheny Intermediate Unit 3

Are you looking for creative ways to reach students with challenging behavior? Come explore how our special education teachers are creating nurturing and safe environments for our students with disabilities. We will share specific strategies (i.e., establish and state clear behavior expectations, model and explain cool-down strategies) linked to the Pennsylvania state standards on managing emotions and behaviors.
