This session supports practitioners in becoming fully aware of the latest policies relevant to supporting students with disabilities in virtual learning environments. Presenters will share considerations and perspectives from the field concerning the use of virtual environments and tools for providing special education and related services such as speech language pathology and audiology services and physical and occupational therapy. Digital solutions for providing special education services in in-person, hybrid, and virtual learning environments will be discussed.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Identify latest policies and procedures relevant to supporting students with disabilities in virtual learning environments, set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Bureau of Special Education.
- Access and describe the educational resources and digital solutions provided by PaTTAN for use in the support of students with disabilities in virtual and hybrid environments.
- Describe knowledge of evidence-based strategies and practices for providing special education services in in-person, hybrid, and virtual learning environments.
Target Audience
General and Special Education Teachers, School Psychologist, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behavior Specialist, Special Education Administrators, Principals, other administrators.
