In Module 11 participants will learn ways to increase students comprehension of varied texts and check understanding through tasks such as writing responses, completing specific graphic organizers and outlines, and applying what has been learned to a new reading. (Focus: Grades Three through Adult)

Objectives

Module 11 Attendees will:

  • Review causes of reading comprehension difficulties.
  • Understand the importance of vocabulary knowledge for comprehension.
  • Understand and learn to implement the Key Three Routine.
  • Plan schoolwide support for implementation of the Key Three Routine and other study strategies.

Target Audience

Teachers of reading and spelling, including literacy consultants, coaches, reading specialists, special education teachers, regular education teachers, and general and special education administrators.


Target Audience

All participants are required to take Module 1 prior to participation in Modules 2 through 12.

Registrants must purchase the LETRS  workbook for the appropriate module through PaTTAN.  The price for the workbook is $40.65.

This is an interactive training. Microphones and cameras are required to be on throughout the session.
