Prevent-Teach-Reinforce (PTR) is a research-supported FBA/BIP model. It is a collaborative, four-step team process, facilitated by a coach. BIPs include interventions that prevent the target behavior, teach an appropriate replacement behavior, reinforce the new behavior, and change responses following the target behavior. Teachers receive active coaching support to implement the plan and use data to make decisions. PTR has a teacher-friendly daily progress monitoring tool and an implementation fidelity measure. This session will describe PTR and demonstrate its application through case studies. Participants will receive a packet of PTR tools to be used in their settings.
