Technical trade schools and community colleges offer lower-cost courses in many subjects including Information Technology and Computer Science that can be transferred to universities.  This can be helpful for students who aren’t ready to commit to full-time university, and often  allows students to satisfy lower-level course requirements while working full-time.  There are also online options for technical courses that can be transferred for college credit.
