This is the second module in the Pyramid Model formerly known as the CSEFEL Modules. This module reviews the Pyramid Model framework and the practices within the targeted section of this framework. Practices that will be reviewed include the importance of teaching friendship skills, emotional literacy, anger management and problem solving along with practical strategies on how to teach these important skills of social emotional development.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:
  • Discuss why it is important to be more intentional about teaching social emotional skills.
  • Identify strategies for supporting the development of friendship skills.
  • Define emotional literacy and identify activities that build “feeling vocabularies."

Target Audience

Early Childhood Educators, ECE Directors, PAPBS Network Facilitators, PBIS Core Leadership Team Members, Early Intervention Teachers or Providers.
