Session Dates

Friday February 28, 2020 1:00 PM - 4:15 PM - PaTTAN - WEST

Closed

Cross-disciplinary teams who are vested in MTSS Implementation often struggle with making complex decisions based upon the data collected within Tiers 1, 2 and/or 3, as it relates to determining Responsiveness to Intervention (RTI) and whether to proceed with the SLD eligibility process. This session will review regulations, research and best practices in SLD identification, to include a case study illustration, frequently asked questions regardless of the approach a given school uses (RTI or Ability-Achievement Discrepancy) and ER sample language.

Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify practices and processes that align with legal mandates and regulation regardless of the approach a given LEA is using
  2. Define Best Practices and Research in SLD Identification
  3. Compare case study illustration and ER language to current practices through review and discussion
