This presentation will explore the vital role of positive and supportive provider-caregiver relationships in Early Intervention. Participants will discover how strong relationships contribute to improved health and safety, enhanced mental and emotional well-being, increased child development knowledge, and stronger parent-child bonds. The presentation also addresses common barriers to building these relationships and provides practical tools to overcome them. Additionally, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how relationships are integrated into Pennsylvania’s Infant Toddler Service Delivery model.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Identify the many benefits of positive and supportive provider-caregiver relationships including improved health and safety; mental and emotional health; child development knowledge; stability and stronger parent-child relationships.
- List the barriers to establishing positive and supportive provider-caregiver relationships and tools to overcome these barriers.
- Explain role of relationships in Pennsylvania’s Infant Toddler Service Delivery model.

This session is designed for professionals working in Early Intervention with a focus on supporting Infants/Toddlers and their families.
