This session introduces the Embedded Instruction for Early Learning Implementation Check process and helps participants to see the relationship between that and Embedded Instruction Essential Practice 1. Participants will work with groups and the facilitators to practice and get feedback on the alignment of target skills with the IEP, preschool curriculum, standards, and family and caregiver priorities. The activities will focus on enhancing participants’ skills to ensure the OMPA (Observable, Measurable, Proximal and Aligned) characteristics are present in all learning targets. Resources will be shared to assist in the collaboration with Early Childhood partners.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Describe the Implementation Check process and how that relates to Embedded Instruction Essential Practice 1.
- List the steps and process of aligning target skills with IEPs, curriculum, standards and family and caregiver priorities.
- Identify and write a high-quality learning target that contains all components ensuring that it is Observable, Measurable, Proximal and Aligned (OMPA)
