In this presentation, participants will learn about the early signs of autism through discussion and video examples. Discussion will further center on the role of collaboration to enhance support for the child and family. State and national resources will be shared that can be used for families and professionals in accessing additional information and supports related to autism.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and recognize early signs of autism in young children.
  2. Explain strategies for discussing the early signs of autism with families.
  3. Identify and locate resources to help professionals and families learn more.

Target Audience

Infant Toddler and Preschool Early Intervention Service Coordinators, Evaluators, Service Providers, Educators, Therapists and Home Visiting/Family Support staff.
