Clinical higher education leaders are encouraged to discuss school-based speech language specifics and promote the knowledge needed for preparation and retention of school-based speech language pathologists. Higher education leaders will connect with school-based supervisors and interact with others who have experiential knowledge of school-based practices during these 90-minute sessions.

Note: Attendance at all three networking sessions is required to receive continuing education credits.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:
- Discuss similarities and differences between clinical and school-based speech language pathology.
- Discuss common myths regarding school-based practice.
- State ways to support graduate level SLPs in transition to school-based experiences and employment.

Target Audience

Audience is limited to individuals currently working in higher education at either the undergraduate or graduate school level. Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate individuals who have special needs as addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act and who need assistance at this event.
