In POWER: AAC – Applying Practices, participants will build on the foundational concepts learned in Power: AAC – Learning the Basics, as they are guided through POWER:AAC modules 7-12 and apply concepts for practicing partner skills, teaching vocabulary, use in the classroom and at home, collect evidence, share resources, and more. Participants will be expected to view assigned POWER:AAC modules and bring questions and ideas to the monthly live training sessions
Participants will be able to:
- Investigate modeling options for an AAC user
- Explore lesson ideas for classroom practice to support AAC implementation
- Describe ways to increase student's communication opportunities using the student’s AAC systems
- Identify opportunities to support the implementation of AAC into a student's home
- Explain how they can implement the AAC Profile and Portfolio into a student's educational plan
