Equity in early intervention begins with culturally responsive and respectful relationships. This course is designed to support early childhood intervention professionals in building their awareness, knowledge, and skills to promote equity through culturally competent practices. Participants will explore key concepts such as diversity, equity, and cultural competence; reflect on their own biases and values; and examine how cultural beliefs shape family expectations and experiences. Real-world scenarios, family perspectives, and current data on equity issues in early intervention bring the content to life. The course concludes with practical action steps to help professionals take meaningful steps toward equitable and inclusive practices in their daily work.
