Restorative Conferencing: Repairing Conflict and Rebuilding Relationships
Session Dates
Tuesday July 22, 2025 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM - PaTTAN - CENTRAL
Closed
Conflict and harm are part of every community—including schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Restorative conferencing offers a structured and relational approach to bring together those who have caused harm, those impacted by it, and members of the broader community to collectively address what happened, its impact, and how to move forward.
This professional learning experience provides the foundational knowledge and skills needed to facilitate formal restorative conferences in response to incidents of wrongdoing or serious conflict. Participants will learn how to create a safe space for accountability, support emotional healing, and rebuild trust through guided dialogue and mutual agreement.
Objectives
By the end of this training participants will be able to:
- Explain the core purpose and guiding principles of restorative conferencing as a relationship-centered process for addressing conflict and harm in school and community contexts.
- Demonstrate foundational facilitation skills for conducting formal restorative conferences, including participant preparation, structured dialogue, and the development of collaborative repair agreements.
- Implement strategies that establish a safe and inclusive space to support accountability, emotional healing, and the restoration of relationships among those impacted by harm.
