QBS Safety Care: Advance Skills Training for Trainers

Advanced Skills Module provides an expanded toolbox of additional skills and strategies for those already certified in the Safety-Care Core Curriculum. It is designed for organizations that support individuals with the potential for extremely dangerous behaviors. It includes physical safety skills, team intervention, strategies for prevention and management of peer aggression, vehicle incidents, object management, transitions, and floor holds.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the training, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate the correct independent performance in the following physical skills (each with a separate objective):Rear Hair Pull Release; Rear Choke Release; Head Lock Release; Triad Tactics; Peer Separation; Hip Sit; 1-Person Seated Vehicle Stability Hold; Lift to Standing Transition Standing to Seated Transition; Object Control Stability Hold; Supine Stability Hold; Standing to Supine Transition; and Seated to Supine Transition.
- Describe advanced critical skills relevant to supporting and de-escalating behavioral incidents, including: vehicle incidents, peer aggression, and object management.
- Identify and demonstrate emergency physical intervention skills.
Target Audience
Staff, educators, and administrators who have completed the QBS Safety Care Initial Training for Trainers.
