The early years are critically important for brain development. It is the time of greatest opportunity to nurture positive, strong brain development and also the time of greatest vulnerability. All behavior is driven by the brain, but how these behaviors get expressed is influenced by three key factors that shape how children process and react to the experiences they have in the world: where they are developmentally, their temperament, and environmental factors. Exploring these factors provides clues to the meaning or purpose of behavior. Participants will learn about how the early years are critically important for brain development.
