Is the science of reading and writing anchoring your assessment and instruction toolbox for students with complex learning needs (CLN)? Students with CLN deserve scientific, proven methodologies to facilitate the most efficient literacy acquisition. Join us for this multiple session series where evidence meets practice—bringing the Science of Reading and Writing to life for students with complex learning needs. This series will focus on assessment and instructional practices for students with CLN who are just beginning to develop phonemic awareness, phonics, pre-phonological spelling, writing, vocabulary, and language. Sessions will include an in-depth discussion of assessment challenges and solutions for this population. The last few sessions will target how educators use individual assessment data to design effective and efficient, science-based instruction for reading and writing. We will also discuss how educators use progress monitoring to make instructional changes for students. Throughout the series, case studies will demonstrate how to integrate, layer, and sequence the discussed literacy skills throughout daily instruction.

This series is intended for Teachers, administrators, speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, behavior analysts, teachers of the visually impaired, related services professionals, consultants, training and consultation staff, early interventionists, paraprofessionals, family members, and anyone supporting students with complex learning needs.
