During this session, members of the 2023 Guidelines document task force will highlight the main points of the Guidelines for Practice of Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT) in Educational Settings. They will summarize the Guidelines and provide practical application suggestions. Participants will move into breakout rooms and discuss specific questions. Afterwards, participants will return to the main room to review the outcomes of these discussions. Join us for in-depth knowledge building and understanding of the Guidelines and have your questions answered.
Objectives
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate how to access relevant information from the Guidelines to utilize in daily practice.
- Identify and locate at least 5 resources to verify laws and regulations related to the provision of physical and occupational therapy in an educational setting within Pennsylvania.
- Discuss the implications of the Guidelines for the Practice of OT/PT in Educational Settings in their work settings.
- List at least 3 examples of limited school activities that can be addressed by occupational and physical therapy services found during the examination and evaluation process.
