Addressing ADA: Public Rights of Way Accessibility Guidelines

Webinar

Session Dates

Wednesday February 12, 2025 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM - Webinar

Closed

During this networking session, we will focus on guidelines that support accommodations for safe and independent travel. We will expand upon our previous functional knowledge and cover advanced features of various APS audible beacon systems, pedestrian-activated warning devices, roundabouts, channelized turning lanes, detectable warning surfaces, and stair crossings. The goal for this session is to provide an overview of the guidelines and locate resources to empower you to promote change. The event will conclude with networking, open discussion, and questions.

Participants will be able to:
  • Identify two resources that provide guidelines for engineers and communities
  • Locate key ADA Laws that apply to intersections and travel
  • Discuss key differences between auditory and tactile warning systems
