Principals Understanding how to Lead Special Education

The Pennsylvania Department of Education ( PDE ) and the Bureau of Special Education ( BSE ) are pleased to announce this 30-hour Act 48 PIL professional development program targeted specifically for principals and assistant principals in improving practices related to students with disabilities: Principals Understanding how to Lead Special Education (PULSE).

The program will focus on three main topics – all with improved instructional and leadership practices at the core:

  • Creating a culture of change

  • Being an instructional leader

  • Ensuring safe and supportive schools

This training series will be offered across the three Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network. Dates and information will be released via Penn Link.
