Hexagon Tool: Prepare to Implement Program-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports

The Hexagon Tool is designed to guide administrators and staff members through exploration and preparation before beginning to implement a new evidence based practice (EBP). While the Hexagon Tool can be used to explore a variety of EBPs, this session will focus specifically on preparation for Program-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PW PBIS).

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • List the six factors of the Hexagon Tool.
  • Use the Hexagon Tool to assess stakeholders’ needs, fit, resources available, evidence, readiness for replication and capacity to implement PW PBIS.
  • Create action steps for implementing PW PBIS based on data from the Hexagon Tool.

Target Audience

ECE administrators with a team of ECE stakeholders such as owner/operators, staff, and families.

Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.
