Session Dates

Thursday October 26, 2017 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

This event is by invitation only. You must have a registration key in order to register.

This PODD (Pragmatic Organized Dynamic Displays) overview is designed to familiarize participants with the PODD language features and its various delivery options (printable communication books and electronic file page sets). In addition, this training will provide the preliminary steps of introducing PODD books to a student and fostering a language learning environment. This will be done through hands-on with a variety of PODD books, demonstration of electronic PODD page sets, and video of PODD users and their staff and family.

Training is needed in communication systems for students with the most complex learning needs in order to access standards-aligned curriculum. Participants will:

  • List 5 major features of the currently available PODD communication books and electronic files.
  • Demonstrate use of a PODD communication book with a partner.
  • Identify situations in which an alternative access method PODD book is needed that is beyond the currently available set of printable PODD books or electronically available PODD page sets.
