A key skill for a school leader is the analyses of data and transforming that information into strategic action. This session will engage participants and further develop skills in the area of data informed decision-making. Specifically participants will interpret PVAAS school level growth reporting, document data findings, transform these data findings into growth goals, and investigate strategies for digging deeper into the root cause of student performance results. Participants will have an opportunity to hear school improvement strategies from a local host school district, as well as a chance to collaborate and share ideas with focus/priority school session participants.
Objectives
- Identify PVAAS school level growth data
- Document data findings as data statements
- Define growth goals based on data findings
- Investigate strategies for aligning professional learning with growth goals
Target Audience
School Leaders from Focus/Priority Schools (This may include a principal or designee, as well as staff providing leadership for continuous school improvement).
*District Leaders, Academic Recovery Liaisons, and IU Consultants are encouraged to attend with their respective focus/priority schools
Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.
