They will be provided with more intensive practice with the parts of speech and sentence parts. Particular attention will be paid to clause/phrase and independent/dependent clause structure. Additionally, time will be allotted for problem solving and trouble-shooting, using more difficult sentences with more advanced structures. This workshop will prepare participants to provide quality sentence development instruction to workshop participants and also build sentence writing repertoire in participants themselves.
Participants will be able to:
- Provide examples of a more sophisticated knowledge of phrase/clause structure as it applies to sentence writing skills
- Describe a wide variety of sentence constructions that trainers and workshop participants may create and/or encounter
- List recommended strategies for sentence structure instruction implementation
