Keeping It Fresh: Tips for Keeping Current with ASL

Many educators who work with students who use American Sign Language (ASL) struggle to keep current in their language skills. This training will share some insights and resources to support educators in keeping their skills fresh. Please note, this is not an American Sign Language class. The target audience is participants who have at least a basic command of ASL.

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify their current ASL skill level.
  • List 2 resources they will access to support ASL skill development.
  • Create action plan for implementing skills practice.

Target Audience

Educational Sign Language Interpreters and Interveners who provide interpreting services in Pennsylvania K-12 classrooms.

Teachers of Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing who have at least intermediate American Sign Language Skills.
