Extending learning beyond the classroom and applying knowledge in authentic settings is a need for all students. For deaf and hard of hearing students, enrichment opportunities that promote the development of these skills can provide access to language, learning, peers, and role models in new and exciting ways. Join us for this session in which we will explore a variety of opportunities available to deaf and hard of hearing students regionally, nationally and virtually, and leave with action steps for how to get students connected with these experiences.
Participants will be able to:
- Cite three reasons why enrichment opportunities outside the classroom are critically important for deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Identify at least three enrichment opportunities available to their student demographic(s).
- State the first two steps of their action plan for connecting students with their identified opportunities.
