This interactive event will feature guided discussions led by PaTTAN Computer Science (CS) consultants and leaders from the Pennsylvania chapters of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA). Participants will break out into smaller groups to tackle key topics in CS education such as: recruiting underrepresented students to CS, teaching CS with evidence-based practices, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence in computing.

Objectives

Participants will:

  • Identify ways to incorporate artificial intelligence into computing.
  • Develop a general plan for recruiting underrepresented students to CS.
  • Identify where cybersecurity can be connected in CS content.

Target Audience

School Librarians, K-12 General Ed, Special Education and English Language Learner teachers

Topics Covered: STEM
