During this virtual networking session, autistic support teachers will explore and discuss community activities and opportunities to actively engage and socially grow students with autistic spectrum disorder. The presenter will share research and tactics that augment social interests and boost successful engagement. Social interests, communication considerations, and safety tenets will be shared. Opportunities to network and brainstorm local considerations will also be built into our time together. Please join us for an informative night and highly practical resource sharing!

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of socialization and natural environment engagement
  • Discuss behavioral flexibility and ways to build tolerance and interest in novel activities
  • Identify community partnerships and opportunities to positively socialize within your local surroundings
  • Engage in networking to share resources and discuss presented concepts
