Big 5 Classroom Practices - Use of Predictable Schedules
Webinar
Session Dates
Friday October 25, 2024 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM - Webinar
Closed
This is the second of five preventative classroom-wide practices that are research-based and promoted by the National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations. Participants will engage in independent reflective work and action planning. Participants will self-assess their own classroom practices and further learn about the use of predictable schedules to decrease challenging behaviors and promote desirable behaviors by all children. Learn ways to use a predictable schedule, to define routines, and to ensure all children understand and can predict what comes next. Participants will build upon what they are already doing to be more intentional and systematic with their implementation of this preventative practice. Lastly, participants will learn about resources to support continued implementation with fidelity. There will be action steps that can be implemented tomorrow within the classroom and access to a Padlet that will provide additional resources to support all children and adults within the classroom while decreasing challenging behaviors.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Discuss research to support the implementation of the classroom-wide practice, use of predictable schedules.
- Learn how to develop and use a schedule to create consistent routines and to help children predict what comes next.
- Examine resources to support implementation and learn how to implement strategies successfully when change occurs.
- Create an action plan around how to implement practices within one’s own classroom tomorrow or next week with intentionality and fidelity.
