Dr. Lakesha Johnson will kick off our book study and provide insight from her perspective as a speech and language pathologist and a parent to the importance of using children’s literature where children can see themselves in the books they read.
Participants will be able to:
- Explain the importance of representation and why it matters in children’s literature.
- Name three resources for integrating diverse literature into their classroom.

Special educators, classroom educators, literacy coaches, reading specialists, speech language pathologists, teachers of English learners, administrators, paraprofessionals, and parents.
