The PA-CSTA virtual unconference will engage participants in guided discussion on K-12 computer science (CS) education in Pennsylvania. PaTTAN CS consultants and leaders of Pennsylvania chapters of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) will facilitate breakout discussions around topics related to building foundational knowledge and skills in CS, recruiting students to CS, teaching CS with evidence-based practices, and building community partnerships to support CS education.
Objectives
Participants will:
- List statewide goals for K-12 CS education in Pennsylvania
- Discuss local CS education initiatives and priorities
- Identify the foundational knowledge and skills in CS
- Develop individual goals for engaging in and supporting K-12 CS education
Target Audience
School Librarians, K-12 General Ed, Special Education and English Language Learner teachers
