This training will explore best practices in vocabulary instruction. Participants will be equipped to utilize the Word Generation materials to support the vocabulary development of all students through instruction in face-to-face, remote, and hybrid settings

Objectives:

Participants will be able to

  • identify characteristics of effective vocabulary instruction
  • develop an action plan for Word Generation implementation
  • implement Word Generation in face-to-face, remote, and hybrid instructional settings

Target Audience

This training is intended for grade level 6-8 teams of ELA, math, science, and social studies teachers and one building administrator

This series is designed for grade-level mixed content area teams to implement Word Generation from fall to winter with an optional implementation debrief session on February 23, 2023.

To register your cross-disciplinary team of up to 7 people, contact Kelly Kapp at kkapp@pattan.net.

Teams who attend all 3 sessions (Aug. 10, Aug. 11, 2022 & Feb 23, 2023), will receive a digital badge that acknowledges team implementation efforts. Teams will be asked to prepare and share a brief presentation (30 minutes) on 2/23/23. PaTTAN will provide participating teams with a presentation template. Teams who do not attend all 3 sessions will not be eligible for a digital badge.
