This "SSDVE (Supporting Students with Disabilities in Virtual Environments) Presents" session offers considerations and strategies for closing out the school year, supporting learners and their families in the summer, and planning for the upcoming year. Topics will include collecting accurate data that measures student growth, maintaining student and family engagement in the summer, developing and implementing effective IEPs, and growing professional capacity.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Identify latest policies and procedures relevant to supporting students with disabilities in hybrid and virtual learning environments, set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Bureau of Special Education.
- Describe knowledge of evidence-based strategies and practices for closing out the current school year, supporting learners and their families in the summer, and planning for the upcoming year.
- Access and describe the educational resources and digital solutions provided by PaTTAN for use in the support of students with disabilities in virtual and hybrid environments' transition between school years.
Target Audience
General and Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behavior Specialists, Special Education Administrators, Principals, other administrators.
