Bounce Back is a cognitive-behavioral, skills-based group intervention aimed at relieving symptoms of child posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and functional impairment among elementary school children (ages 5-11) who have been exposed to traumatic events. This training is intended to equip school-based mental health clinicians with the background knowledge and skills necessary to implement Bounce Back in their LEAs.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Define and describe the impacts of trauma on student functioning
- Identify how to use screening assessments to determine candidates and specific targets for intervention
- Describe and apply the principles, skills, and strategies of Bounce Back
Target Audience
Master's level mental health clinicians
School psychologists, school social workers, school counselors, preferably with experience in cognitive behavioral therapy
