This special event supports practitioners in growing their capacity to support students with disabilities in virtual learning environments. The event consists of a general session and three rounds of “lightning talks.” A general session will support practitioners in becoming fully aware of the latest policies relevant to supporting students with disabilities in virtual learning environments. Lightning talks are focused breakout sessions facilitated by consultants from various PaTTAN initiatives allowing practitioners to explore instructional resources, strategies, and opportunities for professional learning and technical assistance.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Identify latest policies and procedures relevant to supporting students with disabilities in hybrid and virtual learning environments, set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Bureau of Special Education.
- Identify the educational resources available from PaTTAN and the digital solutions that are helpful for students in both virtual and hybrid learning environments.
- Describe and list evidence-based strategies and practices for supporting students with disabilities in virtual/hybrid environments.
Target Audience
General and Special Education Teachers, School Psychologist, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behavior Specialist, Special Education Administrators, Principals, other administrators.
