This event features discussion on a variety of K-12 computer science (CS) education topics, facilitated by PaTTAN CS consultants and leaders of Pennsylvania chapters of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA). Participants will take part in breakout sessions based on important topics in CS education, including: Closing equity gaps, identifying best practices, aligning curriculum to CS standards, unplugged activities, foundational concepts in computer science, and the impacts of computing.

Objectives

Participants will:

  • Identify statewide goals for CS education in Pennsylvania.
  • Discuss local CS education initiatives and priorities.
  • Develop individual goals for engaging in and supporting CS education.

Target Audience

School Librarians, K-12 General Ed, Special Education and English Language Learner teachers
